The cultural survey was developed by itim International in collaboration with The Hofstede Centre, itim international’s certifying partner. The purpose of the survey is to make you aware of potential cultural pitfalls and to increase your effectiveness in dealing with those being born and raised in your country of interest. Since you as a person probably differ from the average score of your home country, this survey will measure your personal score on Hofstede’s model in order to give advice as accurately as possible. Your personal score will be compared to the score of your country of interest. You will receive a report containing
- Personal recommendations based on your answers and the chosen capacity (are you a subordinate/superior/negotiator/person transferring know-how/long term visitor or exchange student) in comparison to your country of interest
- Your own score on Hofstede’s 6-D Model, to be seen in comparison to your country of interest and your home country
- Scores of the 5 countries scoring most similar to you
- Scores of the 3 countries scoring most different to you
Note that this is not a scientifically valid test. Culture cannot be measured on individual level as culture is a always a group phenomenon. Nevertheless, the report can give you useful hints of what kind of pitfalls you can expect in your country of interest. By taking this survey, you agree to accept these limitations.
The survey consists of 42 pairs of statements. It takes about 15 minutes to answer to all questions. After submitting the information on this page, you will receive an e-mail containing the link to the survey – you can fill in the survey any time convenient to you. At the end, a .pdf report will be sent to your e-mail address and to your consultant.
